24/7/365 DPS assists the University community with transports to University Health Services (UHS) for acute medical issues and arranges for ambulance transportation when deemed necessary or when the individual is not eligible (not affiliated) to be seen at UHS. Once a student is released from UHS or UMCPP, and transportation is medically necessary, DPS will provide transport to the student's dorm or campus apartment. Transport by Ambulance Ambulance transports are always directed to a local hospital, since they cannot transport to UHS by NJ State Regulations. In most situations, patients have the right to refuse ambulance transport, however in certain situations the ambulance team must transport despite the patients refusal.
