Contractor Escorts

Certificate Is Valid While Employed At Princeton

The Department of Public Safety provides an escort to all outside contractors in order to ensure that the campus remains safe and secure.  The purpose of the escort is to guarantee that occupants of campus buildings are safe while work is being done.  Should you have outside contractors who need to do work inside residential halls or high security areas, they will need an escort.

To request an escort, complete the Contractor Escort Request Form and either fax it to 609-258-9773 or email it to [email protected].

Regulations & Restrictions

  • In buildings with graduate student residents, contractors and vendors may work in public spaces, but need to have an escort checking on them in regular intervals to insure they are not working in residential areas. (e.g. public spaces - student residential area common spaces and public spaces of academic, administrative, and athletic buildings.)

  • Escorts that are needed for less than 15 minutes (to assist a vendor drop off or pick up) can be provided by the University department receiving the service.

  • OCP, Facilities or the department will need to arrange for both the escort and the opening and closing of the space. Completely unoccupied buildings are exempt from this requirement.
