Campus Vehicle Driver Certification

Princeton University’s fleet includes more than 350 vehicles—owned and leased cars, vans, trucks, golf carts, and even some construction vehicles—that are used to transport people and things on and around campus. These vehicles are operated by employees and students under stringent safety guidelines. University vehicles may only be operated by approved drivers and only for University business.

Communicate Directly with DPS in an Emergency

With the push of a button, the user can communicate directly with the Department of Public Safety (DPS) Communication Center. If you need immediate assistance from the Department of Public Safety, with the push of a button you will be connected directly to emergency dispatch in the Department of Public Safety.

Project Medicine Drop Logo

Project Medicine Drop

In partnership with the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs, the department participates in Project Medicine Drop, which is an important component of the state’s efforts to halt the abuse and diversion of prescription drugs.  It allows consumers to dispose of unused and expired medications anonymously, seven days a week, 365 days a year, at “prescription drug drop boxes.”  The Department of Public Safety lobby at 200 Elm Drive provides an on-campus location for the Princeton University community’s use.

Lockout Services

The Department of Public Safety is not the primary provider of lockout services for university buildings. Students, faculty and staff should only contact DPS for lockout services outside of business hours for The Service Point.

Fingerprinting

By appointment only, the Department of Public Safety Detective Bureau offers fingerprinting services to Princeton University Students, Faculty, and Staff.

Lost & Found

If you find a student’s Tiger Card or any other valuable items, please turn them in to the Lost and Found at 200 Elm Drive.

R.E.A.C.T. Self-Defense Classes

Learn to defend yourself.  There is limited availability in the course and we recommend enrolling as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
