Our non-sworn Security Officers work in three different areas of Princeton’s campus: on patrol around campus, in the Firestone Library and in the Princeton University Art Museum.
Non-sworn public safety officers are empowered by the institution to enforce University regulations. These officers attend a training program sponsored by the New Jersey College and University Public Safety Association that provides a basic orientation to the theories of campus security. Non-sworn public safety officers participate in field training and an evaluation program to further orient them to providing campus public safety services.
Officers that patrol the campus are primarily responsible for building security, event security and enforcement of parking and traffic regulations.
