Lockout Services

The Department of Public Safety is not the primary provider of lockout services for University buildings. Students, faculty and staff should only contact DPS for lockout services during hours outside those of the department of House and Real Estate Services. Guidelines and information about each lockout service is outlined below.

Standard Lockouts

All issuance of keys, including replacement and temporary keys, new locks and lock changes in University housing properties is coordinated through the department of Housing and Real Estate Services. For more information about Standard Lockouts please visit this website.

Residents unable to come to the Housing and Real Estate Services office have an alternate choice to contact Public Safety to request re-entry. You will be asked to specify the circumstances preventing you from obtaining a temporary key from the Housing and Real Estate Services office. In addition you must agree to the applicable service fee*.

Residents requiring re-entry after business hours should contact Public Safety at (609) 258-1000. A Public Safety Officer will arrange to meet you at your place of residence. In some cases a Public Safety Officer will call ahead to a Housing Coordinator who will meet you at your place of residence. When the officer or superintendent arrives you will be required to present your TigerCard as proof of identity.
